Overview

SC Youth Soccer and Combined Insurance have arranged to offer all of SC Youth Soccer Members COMBINED INSURANCE, a supplemental Accident Insurance Policy. Designed for Families who have Children playing organized sports.

For many parents across the nation, fall youth soccer season has kicked off. That means that children who play the sport are at risk of getting hurt, and those injuries are apparently skyrocketing. Researchers at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Ohio completed the first comprehensive national study on children's soccer injuries. They assessed data on children from 7 to 17 years of age from 1990 to 2014. They published their findings in the journal Pediatrics Researchers said that during that time there was a 78 percent increase in soccer-related injuries treated in hospital emergency departments. The annual rate of injuries has soared by 111 percent. Youth Sports Injury averaged cost $6039 for an inpatient visit and $439 for an ED visit from sports injuries. Sports injuries for Medicaid-insured youth cost $10.8 million for inpatient visits and $44.2 million for ED visits.

Facts:

- From 1990 to 2014 soccer injuries for children ages 7-17 rose 111%.
- Players 12-17 accounted for 73% of the injuries.
- Female players are more likely to suffer a knee injury than male players.

This policy will pay your family whenever any covered individual gets hurt and seeks medical attention due to an injury suffered by an accident. It will help offset the cost of your high deductible.
